Spurger ISD has a parent volunteer group called V.I.P.S. which is Volunteers in Public Schools. Membership is welcome to anyone in our community that would like to help our schools. You do not have to have a student enrolled in either High School or Elementary. You do not have to be available all the time. If you can only give an hour or two per year,we would still love to have you come see what we are about.
- VIPS gives back to the school all money that is earned in many ways.
- We give High School scholarships. The last 3 years we have given $300.00-$500.00 scholarships.
- If you noticed the school supply lists were shorter,that is due to the profit we earned for Santa Shop last year.
- We purchased a cement squarer for 5th and 6th grade to play 4-square on.
- We purchased planner for all employees that wanted one.
- We donated books to classrooms in Elementary and High School.
This year we have many new ideas on easy fundraisers such as our annual used book sale and hopefully a garage sale or craft sale. We are a school-wide group so even if your students are in Jr. High or High School,you are welcome.
