In Zavalla, our Junior High Boys Cross Country team beat out 3 schools, coming second only to the Eagles in the 2023 District Meet on October 11th. Caleb Grissom placed 2nd, Jaydan Pastrana placed 4th and were both only seconds behind first place. In 6th place was Kyle Abdul, in 7th place was Dawson Heim, and coming in 25th was Sammy McElvin. Also competing for Spurger Junior High was David Gonzalez and Hunter Richard. In the girl’s division, the Spurger Lady Pirates were represented by Bianca Espinoza who placed 6th in the District meet.
