Below is the letter that Parents of athletes will receive about new protocols for summer workouts.

For Additional information please visit the Spurger Athletics page, for downloadable forms and more information from UIL.

Parents/guardians,

Due to the impact of COVID-19, there will be new protocols for our summer strength and conditioning program.

Before any athlete is allowed to participate in summer workouts, a pre-screening questionnaire must be completed and returned to the coaching staff. Please go over this form with your athlete, and return it on the first scheduled day of workouts. The form must be signed and dated by both the athlete and guardian.

In addition to the pre-screening, all athletes will also be required to complete a COVID-19 symptoms survey each day of workouts.  A copy of this form is attached.

We will be following all guidelines set forth by the UIL during our strength and conditioning sessions, as well as our sports specific skills sessions.  To view these guidelines you may visit the UIL website, or the coaching staff can provide you with a printed version of the guidelines as requested.

All athletes will need to enter and exit the gym through the doors on the back side of the gym by the bus pickup/drop off area. If an athlete arrives before the gym is open, they will need to remain in a vehicle, or if they must wait outside, they will be required to wait in a designated area to ensure social distancing from other athletes that may also be waiting.

Athletes will not have access to the locker room at any time.
