Construction Complete

Spurger ISD will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 8, to celebrate the completion of the district’s new Career & Technical Education (CTE) Building. The event will bring together community members, district leadership, staff, and partners to recognize a series of completed facility improvements that are already enhancing student learning across the district.constructionconstruction

The CTE Building and Agriculture building addition includes two modern classrooms and a new shop, adding a combined total of approximately 4,000 square feet of instructional space. These facilities provide flexible, hands-on learning environments designed to support workforce readiness, industry certifications, and continued education, strengthening the connection between classroom instruction and real-world application.

“With the opening of this CTE building, we are empowering our students to turn their passions into professions and bridge the gap between education and industry,” said Superintendent Jeff Burnthorne. “These improvements reflect our commitment to investing in spaces that support student success today and in the future.”

In addition to the CTE expansion, Spurger ISD has completed renovations to Martin Gym and upgrades to the interior of the elementary gym. Improvements to the elementary gym included removing outdated fans and louvers, adding sheetrock, and constructing a new restroom facility. Spurger ISD extends sincere appreciation to the Board of Trustees, district maintenance staff, Schneider Electric, and project partners whose collaboration made these projects possible. The district looks forward to celebrating these milestones with the community and showcasing facilities that will serve students for years to come.
