The Spurger Cross Country teams competed in the West Sabine Invitational and had a great pre-district showing. The high school varsity boys team had all members finish in the top 20. Josh Grissom placed 9th followed by Senior and 2021 State Qualifier Jose Jimenez in 11th. Next finished Luis Jimenez in 12th place, Landon Heim placed 13th, and Nick Wilson placed 19th. Gage Gray ran for the JV boys team and placed 5th. Also placing 5th was Searra Clark who ran for the Varsity Lady Pirate team. Our top medalist of the day was Zechariah Grissom who came in 2nd for the junior high boys team. What a way to start the season!
