Spurger ISD

Are you interested in showing livestock at the upcoming Tyler County Fair? Or maybe becoming a 2026-2027 Spurger FFA Officer? Then mark your calendar for March 23rd at 6 pm! Join us in the ag shop for all things FFA! Parent attendance is encouraged! Thank you, and we hope to see you there!

Students who showed growth and put in hard work on the Mock STAAR test were rewarded with a well-deserved pizza party. Their dedication, effort, and determination are something to celebrate! 📚👏

Keep up the great work—we’re cheering you on all the way to the real STAAR test! 💪✨

Oh what a day in Pre-K, hooray!
For Dr. Seuss Day we learned and we played!

We read about Green Eggs and Ham,
And wondered… “Would we like them like Sam-I-Am?”

Some said yes and took a bite,
Some said “Hmm… I’m not so sure that’s right!”

But we laughed and smiled all the while,
Reading and rhyming in true Seuss style!

A day full of books, fun, and cheer,
Happy Dr. Seuss Day from our Pre-K here! 💚📚🥚

It’s BOOK FAIR Week!
Tomorrow is Wednesday, which means the cafeteria is open to visitors!
Come enjoy lunch with your student and then stop by the Book Fair to shop together.

Reminder: Spring Pictures are Wednesday!

Cheer parent meeting Monday, March 2nd at 6:00 in Mrs. Williams’ classroom

Huge shoutout to our dedicated staff! 🚌 While most were resting over Winter Break, Mr. Burnthorn, Coach Saulsbury, and Mrs. Huddleston were hard at work. They successfully completed the Entry Level Driver Training Course with Angelina College! This is a major milestone required before they take their official CDL tests. We are so proud of their commitment to our students and our district. Way to go, Pirates! 🏴‍☠️

Sippin’ on sunshine thanks to Mrs. Tolar with the Sunshine Committee! 🥤☀️ Thank you for treating our elementary staff to fancy sodas and for always finding ways to spoil us. We feel so appreciated!

Our AMAZING Cafeteria Ladies just got some exciting news yesterday — they’ve earned the Cream of the Crop Award for the Farm Fresh Challenge they rocked in October 2025! 🏆🌽🥕

Rawdon Saulsbury has been selected as my choice to receive the Hook Award. His work ethic and dedication to his job duties makes him a clear choice in receiving this award. He handles many responsibilities and is definitely an asset to Spurger ISD and his community.

Cheer tryout practice for Tuesday has been canceled. Beginning this week, Monday’s practice will be extended by one hour and will now start at 3:00 PM.

Spurger Pirates vs. Kennard Tigers Please come out, pack the stands, and support our boys!

The Pirates are headed to the playoffs! If you would like to order a shirt to help support our boys, please fill out a form and email it to Coach Stapert or Coach Saulsbury by Monday the 16th. Thank you in advance for your support!

Our Spurger Lady Pirates have earned a playoff spot! We would like to invite everyone to come out Monday, February 16th to Corrigan to see our girls take on the Centerville Bulldogs starting at 6pm. There will also be a fan bus available for students! Congratulations Lady Pirates!

Our Seniors are "Out of this World"! Yesterday, our Seniors took their academic field trip to Space Center Houston where they were able to learn more about the history of space travel, experience how astronauts train, and witness all of the exciting things currently happening with the Artemis Mission which is set to launch within the next few months! We love this trip because many of our current students are training to be welders and engineers and Nasa presents so many amazing opportunities for careers. Maybe one day we will see a few of these students busy at work when we come to visit!
