Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was January 9th. The elementary students and staff wanted to let Constable Ross know how much we appreciate him being on our campus most days. While his #1 role is to keep all of us safe here, he also does a great job in making students feel that they have someone to talk to, joke with, and lean on in difficult times. We are thankful for him and all of the officers that come to our campus to keep us safe!

Spurger Pirate JV Basketball Boys took home 3rd place in the Brookeland Wildcat Invitational. Thursday, the Pirates defeated the Warren Warriors and took their only loss of the tournament against the Douglas Indians in a close 1 point game. Saturday, the Pirates dominated the Chester Yellowjackets and faced the Warren Warriors once again for the third place title. Our Spurger Pirates were victorious against the Warriors 46-40. Leading the Pirate team throughout this tournament were the sophomore guards: Canyon Baker, Joseph Fielder, and BJ Haynes. Way to go Spurger JV! Before the tournament our JV boys have had tremendous success and were in the midst of a 10 game winning streak.
