Spurger JH/HS would like to Welcome our students back for the 22-23 school year. Tomorrow August 11th Spurger Junior High/High School first bell will ring at 7:45 AM. Please make your way to the cafeteria if you get here early.

Welcome back to school! Just a reminder that Spurger Elementary school starts at 7:30 and parents and guardians may walk students into school tomorrow and Friday only. Please be sure to sign in with your ID's at the front office before going to your students classroom. Before walking into the school, there is a set up in the drop off/pick up line to take pictures. We hope everyone has a great first day back!

Reminder that Meet the Teacher will be tomorrow at 12. You may bring your students supplies at that time. Please remember to have registration completed beforehand.

High School Volleyball practice will start August 1st from 9:00-11:00 and 1:00-3:00. All girls need to be at the gym by 8:30 on the 1st. August 2nd and 5th will be the same schedule. August 3rd will be from 1:00-4:00 and August 4th will be from 11:00-1:00 and 3:00-5:00. August 6th there will be a scrimmage at West Hardin.

Substitute Teacher Training Information Spurger ISD 409-429-3464 Time: 9:00 to 12:00 July 27, 2022 at the Joseph Fisher Media Center If interested in attending this class call the Superintendent’s Office at 409-429-3464 ext. 2230 Once you complete the substitute teacher course: You will need to fill out a substitute teacher application You must volunteer two hours in a classroom You will need to get with Superintendent Secretary to setup fingerprinting Turn in a copy of your driver’s license, social security card Fill out the remaining paperwork with the Superintendent Secretary.

Awards and Report Cards can be picked up on Tuesday, 5/31 between 8 and 11 AM.

2nd graders made keepsake pillowcases with all of their friends handprints and signatures.

5th and 6th graders made tables using only paper, scissors, and tape. They put them to the test and the winning table held 73 books!

Math Incentive Lunch with Mrs. Bell for completing Mathia Math!

Water Day reminder! Please bring a change of clothes and a towel to participate. NO flipflops.

In light of yesterday's tragic events, we will have a deputy assigned to our district for the remainder of the year. There are no threats to our district. The deputies are out of caution and ensure a smooth ending to the year. Hopefully, this will provide some peace of mind. Pirate On, Morgan Wright
