6th grade modeled the distances of our planets from the sun in our solar system.

Mrs. Rice's 4th graders did a novel study on the book, The City of Ember. Students were given six different prompts to choose from that related to the story. Each wrote a page in response to the story and the prompt.

Mrs. Cooley's 2nd graders played go fish with their sight words and boom stick spelling with their spelling words. Making learning fun is the best way to go!


Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2022 - 2023 school year will be Thursday, April 7th from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 2:30 pm.

1st grade is fluently reading passages using their phonics rules!


Spurger ISD held a can food drive. The students brought 311 lbs. and 250 meals to be donated to the Pineywood's Food Pantry. Thank you to the Southeast Texas Food Bank as well as the Pineywood's Food Pantry for helping our neighbors!


Ryder received a certificate from Mrs. McGallion for knowing and recognizing numbers 1 to 20!


We have a few more seniors to brag on! Congratulations to Kendall Gray, Trint Essary, and Kayla Haskett on their college acceptance!


Students in 5th grade social studies have just completed their unit on the American Revolution. They are ending the unit with a scavenger hunt, searching the battles of the war for answers to questions.


Congratulations Ellie on making 400 AR Points! She celebrated with pizza
with her teachers and friends.


1st Graders always have the best stories to tell! We love them coming in to share with us.

Kori Sheffield made a beautiful rose from playdoh at center time!


6th Grade Social Studies has been studying the Ukraine Crisis. We learned about political cartoons and investigated the roles that they are playing in the understanding of what is happening between the Ukraine and Russia.



Friday we ended our kindness challenge with Show Your Heart Day and wore red. Elementary students came together for a group picture and showed Pirate Pride!
