Spurger I S D will begin school at 10 A.M. January 11th, due to expected winter weather conditions.

Mrs. Robinson, our District Counselor, has been visiting with elementary classes to discuss learning styles and career choices. The students tallied their likes and dislikes in a Multiple Intelligence Quiz, then were able to graph and discuss the career choices based on their learning styles. 😊




When I grow up, I want to be a .... PreK students learned about careers today. Look out world. Here comes PreK! 😊




Game on! Students had fun practicing their alphabet with Mrs. McGallion today. 😊


You go girls! These girls each received a prize for making a 100 on 10 AR books. They also got to be in Mr. Drake's first selfie! 😊


We have received a request from Big Sandy that there will not be any spectators allowed in their gymnasium due to COVID for any basketball games.
What a great day for celebrations! Our Pirate Pride Award winners got a trip to Elijah’s and our Junior High students won some awesome prizes for their success in reflex math!


You go Pirates!! These students have shown tremendous improvement on Istation this year. They are not only great students academically, but great citizens as well. We're proud of you! 😊

So long germs!! Students learned the importance of proper hand washing to rid germs and keep illnesses away. They were also reminded to cover coughs and sneezes. This was a fun learning experience with our Glo Germ friend! We will beat the nasty flu and COVID 19 season! Thank you Nurse Pam, Nurse Ginger, and Nurse Katlan for all that you do!

Christmas arrived early for our newest Perfect Attendance winner. Wyatt was the 2nd six weeks award winner and won an Amazon Fire tablet! Great job!! 😊

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! Santa, his reindeer, and friends made a visit to the Elementary car rider line to welcome boys and girls to school. Santa was very happy to see them all. His exact words were, "Spurger Elementary students are always on the nice list, and I love to flyover and visit Spurger each and every year." 🎅🏻🌲




Christmas cuties! Merry Christmas from the sweetest 2nd graders this side of The North Pole! 😊




Chocolate + Math = Best day ever! Fourth graders learned their mixed number fractions with chocolate and had a Google meets with their friends at home. 😊




And that's a wrap! First graders ended the year with a Doubles Rap with Mr. Drake, storytelling, and Christmas ornament crafts. 😊




Congratulations to Mrs. Carla Odom who was just named Spurger ISDs Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Odom was chosen by her peers for this honor. She has taught a total of 29 years. In 1996, she became a Pirate and has taught the students of Spurger ISD for 25 years. The district is proud to have her on staff and congratulates her on this well-deserved accolade. 😊

Dear Santa,
Mrs. Saulsbury's Kindergarten class has been very good this year. They are excited for you to visit them and promise to leave you milk and cookies to get you through your long night on Christmas Eve.
