Lady Pirates Volleyball
2024
Mandatory practice will begin on August 5, 2024, for grades 9-12. Any athlete that did not have a physical at the end of the 2023-24 school year must have one prior to practicing. We will practice 2 times a day from 7am-9am and 3pm-5pm Monday-Thursday. Friday, August 9th, we will scrimmage Evadale in Evadale at 1pm. On Saturday, we will scrimmage Lighthouse in Spurger beginning with JV at 10 am, then varsity will follow. Athletic clothes and lockers will be assigned on the morning of August 5th. Please be sure to bring a water bottle.

Arlene is a Spurger High School graduate and has served Spurger ISD in many different capacities over the past 25 years. We are excited to have Mrs. Robinson take on this important leadership role.

Elementary Award Ceremonies and Program Times and Dates


Students that had 100 AR Points for the year got to play in the video game truck yesterday! Way to go for working so hard and meeting that goal.


Due to the anticipated inclement weather, the school board meeting for tonight, May 16th, has been canceled.

Kindergarten students won the 'Silly String Your Teacher" challenge for ranking highest on the end of the year MAPS Testing. The best way to end a fun filled water day!


Emerson, Emalee, and Ava are 100% fluent on Reflex addition and subtraction facts!


5th and 6th Grade went on a field trip to Urban Air and CiCi's Pizza. They had a blast and really enjoyed their free day of fun!


JH/HS teachers chose our last round of Pirate Pride recipients. These students were selected by their teachers for demonstrating excellence over the past 9 weeks. Congratulations to Danielle Crane, Kendalyn Durousseau, Logan Self, Harley Gaines, Carter Wright, and Mason McGallion!!!


Spurger Elementary 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year is awarded to Mrs. Cooley! Congratulations! You are so deserving of this award! Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. We are grateful for all that you do!


Spurger Elementary voted on Para of the year for the 2023-2024 school year. We would like to congratulate Mrs. Taylor Davis on receiving this award! She is amazing with the students and we are so thankful to have her as a part of the Pirate Crew!


Mrs. Cooley's second-grade class has planned a sweet surprise for their heroes with a wonderful menu! They'll have chicken salad croissants and chips. For dessert, there are delicious strawberry and blueberry pies, and lemonade to drink. Thanks to Mrs. Cooley and all the kids in her class for putting this together!

3rd Grade is going to BLOW the Math STAAR away! They shared their fears about the test and blew them to be carried far away! These kids are going rock the STAAR!
