2nd Grade has finished reading the Mercy Watson series and were invited to write a letter to persuade our judges to let them take Mercy home. Their writing was SO AMAZING that the judges had to choose two winners!!! Congratulations to Ellie Williams, 1st Place and Vincent Schriefer, 2nd Place.

Ava and Faith both showed huge growth on the NWEA test! They got to come down to the office and get prize tokens!

4th Grade read and did a novel study on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before Christmas and Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library when we came back in January. The students then created their very own businesses that are tailor-made for their personalities and interests. Checkout our unique businesses and eccentric millionaire headshots.

Mrs. Sirmons class graphed lucky charms and completed lucky charm number sentences for St. Patrick's Day last week. Then, they got to enjoy eating them for a special treat!

5th grade read, I Love Strawberries by Shannon Anderson for Read for Ag Literacy Week. They also planted strawberries.

After NWEA testing today, Ms. Esparza rewarded her 4th graders with a movie!

Spurger ISD Announces 2023-2024 Pre-K & Kindergarten Round-Up Spurger Elementary will have Pre-K and Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2023-2024 school year onTuesday, April 4,2023. Registration will be held at the Elementary office during the times of 9:00 am - 12:00pm and 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. Students registering for Kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 1st. Students registering for Pre-K must be four years of age on or before September 1st and meet all other eligibility requirements. **If your child is currently enrolled in PreK at Spurger Elementary, you will NOT need to pre-register for Kindergarten.** The following documents will be needed at the time of registration: 1. Certified Birth Certificate 2. Current Immunization Records 3. Social Security Card 4. Driver’s License of Person Enrolling Student 5. 2 Proofs of Residency with 911 Address (PreK student must reside within district) 6. Previous Month’s Verification of Income (PreK only) Ex. SNAP, TANF, pay stubs 7. Military Dependent Documentation (PreK only) 8. Star of Texas Award (PreK only) 9. Texas DFPS documentation (PreK only) A decision regarding a possible maximum number of students in PreK will be made after PreK Round-Up. Welcome Aboard !!
