🐣✨ Our 4th graders had an exciting day today — they finally got to hold the baby chicks they’ve been watching hatch! Under the guidance of Mrs. Huddleston, the students have cared for these eggs with patience and curiosity, and today their hard work paid off. Out of an abundance of caution, we will release early today at 2:15 PM. This should allow our buses to complete their routes before the worst of the weather approaches. Spurger played in the District Tennis Tournament on April 23rd in Woodville. Summer Merritt placed 2nd in Girls Singles (advancing to Regionals) and Savannah Brooker placed 3rd. Kade Simpson placed 2nd in Boys Singles (advancing to Regionals) and Joshua Grissom placed 3rd. In Mixed Doubles, Kiley Crain/Joseph Fielder placed 1st and Citori Stakes/Landen Hooks placed 2nd (both teams advancing to Regionals). We would like to wish them the best of luck on May 7-8 at Regionals held at Rudder High School in Bryan, Texas.

Our sophomores went to tour the Ocean Star Museum in Galveston and got to experience working on an offshore drilling rig. They also got to get some sweet streets at La Kings and play a little on the beach before heading home!
