
3rd Grade earned 2 hours time in the rolling video game trailer by having the highest percentage for the mock STAAR test! They even had a surprise visitor, Mr. Burnthorn, stop in and play a game with them.

High School Track has started the season off strong competing in the Deweyville Meet on March 7th. Our 1600M relay team placed 1st, 13 seconds ahead of 2nd place! Senior, Luis Jimenez, placed 3rd in the 3200M and the 1600M. Junior, Joshua Grissom, placed 2nd in 110M hurdles and 1st in 300M hurdles. Junior, Landon Heim, placed 1st in 800M and 400M. Freshman, Zech Grissom, placed 2nd in 400M.  The Varsity boys placed 3rd overall as a team at the Deweyville Meet.  
Representing the girls, was Junior, Shayla Moncrief, who placed 3rd in High Jump. We are so proud of our track athletes and are expecting great things for the rest of the season. 




Pre-K students counted snacks to 100!


On Friday's, Mrs. Arlene teaches a social/emotional lesson to students in PK through 4th grade. Last week students learned about emotions.


Spring Break will be March 28th through April 8th. Classes will resume on April 9th.

Due to wet fields the softball game today and Friday will be rescheduled to Thursday March 7th starting at 3:00 PM at Big Sandy for a doubleheader.

Chemistry has been studying the different types of chemical reactions. They performed an experiment that displayed chemiluminescence through the oxidation of luminol.

Maci is 100% Fluent on all math facts on Reflex Math! She received her math t-shirt.


Bus Driver Appreciation Day was during Winter Break. We wanted our drivers to know how much we appreciate them for taking great care of our students and getting them to school safely. We would also like to thank Mr. Doug for all he does from driving when needed and for all of the work he does on a daily basis to ensure our buses are ready for the road.


3rd grade played a basketball shooting game for passing their fraction tests. The champion beat Mr. Burnthorn in a nail biter game! 


There will be an 8th-grade parent meeting on March 7th to discuss schedules for next school year. The meeting will be in the Go Center from 4:30-5:30.

Spurger Elementary will be celebrating Dr. Seuss Week on March 4th through March 8th.
