Congratulations to our Pirate Pride winners for the first 9 weeks of school! Teachers nominated students who demonstrated positivity, and they will be treated to lunch at Elijah's. Way to go Kyley, Sammy, Ashlyn, B.J., Kylee, and Coby!


The volleyball PINK OUT game will be this Friday, October 20th. To show support, wear your pink to school! Cheerleaders will be selling PINK OUT tattoos, face paint, and pink hair spray Friday morning. Face paint will be 0.25 and tattoos and pink hair spray will be 0.50.


Mrs. Cooley's 2nd graders enjoyed ice cream sundaes and a movie for earning 100 marbles for good behavior!


If you ordered a Pink Out shirt to support the Spurger Cheerleaders, the orders will be ready for pickup at the school next week.


Spurger Athletics will be selling Cross Country shirts. They will be $17 and the deadline to order is Monday, October 16th by 9am. Contact Caleb LeBouef at lebouefc@spurgerisd.org to place an order if you are interested. Thanks for supporting our Cross Country Team!


Spurger Elementary is teaming up with Lamar University for their Canned Food Drive to support the local Southeast Texas Food Banks. It will start Monday, October 16th and go through Tuesday, November 7th. Notes with more information will be sent home with students this afternoon.



Ms. Dyson's class used their dot tiles to make sums of 6.


Pre-k students done an amazing job learning to write the number 3!


6th graders enjoyed their free time at their incentive party for the 1st 9 weeks of school!


4th grade made slime to learn about mixtures in science.

Johnny Appleseed Day was Tuesday, September 26th. Pre-K and Kindergarten had a great time tasting different types of apple foods.



Twinning with friends is always fun, especially when its unplanned!


Mrs. Maxwell’s 3rd Grade Math Classes used froot loops to represent distributive property. What a yummy way to learn!

PINK OUT DAY 2023



SHS cross country teams competed last Wednesday in West Sabine. Roxy Burge brought home 4th place for the JV girls, Isaac Donatucci came in 8th place for the JV boys, and Josh Grissom, Zechariah Grissom, and Landon Heim finished 3rd for the Varsity boys. Everyone ran a great race and we are so proud. Keep up the great work, Pirates!
