
Pre-K and Kindergarten students decorate a pumpkin for fall fest every year. The staff and students get to vote on the pumpkins for different categories. The winners this year are: 1st Place- Sterling Adams with Pikachu/Pokemon, Tied for 2nd Place- Kooper Hare with Orbit Astros Mascot and Huxley Baker with Skittles, 3rd Place- Carter Eddings with a Dinosaur, Spookiest- Jaxon Williams, Most Original- Weston Fea with Fishing, Most Creative- Teagan Smith with a Granny, Best Movie Based- Sawyer McClelland with Hocus Pocus, and Best Kid Created- Braxton Williams with Batman.

Pirate Cross Country competed at the Regional Meet in Corpus Christi today. Landon Heim placed 8th out of 158 runners. His performance earns him a trip to the state meet in Round Rock on November 4. Help us congratulate him on this achievement. We are so proud of you, Landon!


There will be a Red Ribbon event on campus on Oct 23rd. There will be fire trucks and sheriff's dept vehicles doing a demonstration for our students.

Congratulations to our Pirate Pride winners for the first 9 weeks of school! Teachers nominated students who demonstrated positivity, and they will be treated to lunch at Elijah's. Way to go Kyley, Sammy, Ashlyn, B.J., Kylee, and Coby!


The volleyball PINK OUT game will be this Friday, October 20th. To show support, wear your pink to school! Cheerleaders will be selling PINK OUT tattoos, face paint, and pink hair spray Friday morning. Face paint will be 0.25 and tattoos and pink hair spray will be 0.50.


Mrs. Cooley's 2nd graders enjoyed ice cream sundaes and a movie for earning 100 marbles for good behavior!


If you ordered a Pink Out shirt to support the Spurger Cheerleaders, the orders will be ready for pickup at the school next week.


Spurger Athletics will be selling Cross Country shirts. They will be $17 and the deadline to order is Monday, October 16th by 9am. Contact Caleb LeBouef at lebouefc@spurgerisd.org to place an order if you are interested. Thanks for supporting our Cross Country Team!


Spurger Elementary is teaming up with Lamar University for their Canned Food Drive to support the local Southeast Texas Food Banks. It will start Monday, October 16th and go through Tuesday, November 7th. Notes with more information will be sent home with students this afternoon.
