Spurger ISD will be closed to students through Friday 3-20. A flexible schedule will be put in place for students on Monday 3-23. The flexible schedule will be posted Friday by noon. We will operate on this schedule until April 3rd.

There will not be any school tomorrow March 17th for students or staff. Further instructions will be released as soon as we have more information to share.

There will be no after school tutorials today.

Say cheese!!! Just a reminder that Spring Pictures are tomorrow. Smile big kiddos!!😊

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!!! PreK and Kindergarten visited the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin today. The kiddos had a great time riding the train and seeing the animals. 😊

Woo hoo!!! Who has Perfect Attendance?! We do!!!!! For the first time this year, all of our Elementary kiddos were in attendance. You could probably hear Mr. Drake shout for joy at the news! He didn't let the day go unnoticed for students, as he quickly put together a school-wide snow cone party. Students and staff celebrated under sunny, blue skies on the playground and courtyard. Way to go kiddos!! 😊

Kind, giving, and respectful were all qualities shown by our Pirates today. Once again, Elijah's in Woodville treated our kiddos to lunch for Good Citizenship. Our students were very well behaved, as they enjoyed good food and laughs. They also wanted to make sure their server received the tip that they each brought. Thank you Elijah's Cafe for lunch and your continued support of our school and the others in our county. 😊

Reading buddies by day, friends for life. Ayden passes on his love for reading to Jonathan today. It is a joy to watch as our older students continue to mentor our younger kiddos. 😊

Praise a Pirate!!! Students were selected by staff members for being outstanding Pirates. We are thankful for these students, as well as all of our other amazing Pirates!! Pirate Pride! Love it! Live it! 😊

To infinity and beyond!!! Mrs. Martindale's students have been learning about our Solar System. In Gavin's free time, he drew the complete system, along with their moons on the board. He joyfully ended up teaching the other students in the room, as they sat there still, quiet, and in awe of his vast knowledge of the subject. Could we have a future NASA scientist on our hands? Great job! 😊

Peer mentoring at its sweetest!! 4th and 5th grade students read to younger students during their RTI time. 😊

Come to the book Fair!!

Hard-working...Responsible...Positive Attitude!! Those are all character traits shown by today's Positive Office Referral recipient. Jaden was chosen by Mrs. Savannah Hebert who said he always works hard during their reading lesson. Great job!!😊

If you have found a friend, you have found a treasure!! Thomas was chosen to receive the Superhero Award for amazing behavior in Mrs. Kirkendall's PreK class. Great job!! 😊

Drip, drop...pitter, patter! Did you know the earth has a "limited" amount of water? That water keeps going around and around and around in what we call the Water Cycle. 4th graders learned about the main parts which are evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. 😊

Owl starts with an "O"! PreK had Show and Tell today with things that begin with the letter "O". Items included orange sunglasses, an owl book, and an egg laid by an Olive Egger Chicken. Fun fact for ya!! Olive Eggers are a breed of chicken that typically lay various shades of olive colored eggs. They are created by crossing a dark brown egg layer with a blue egg layer.🥚 PreK students ended the morning activity with an olive tasting, in which students voted on black olives as the best. 😊

Where did that six weeks go? Report cards will go home with students tomorrow. 55 days until summer!! 😊
