2025-2026 First Day of School - August 13, 2025
Last Day of School - May 21, 2026

Junior High and High School Gifted and Talented students were treated to a day at Pleasure Pier in Galveston where they took a tour to learn about the physics behind how the rides on the pier operate. They had a great day riding the rides and eating snacks. A late lunch at Bubba Gumps finished off the trip!

A big thank you to Mrs. Cooley’s 2nd grade class for treating the Spurger ISD Food Services Team to lunch today! Your kindness and thoughtfulness truly made our day. We appreciate you! 🍽️❤️ #ThankYou #SpurgerISD

Spurger ISD will end the school year a little early! The last day of school for students will the Thursday, May 22 with an early release at 12:30pm immediately following the conclusion of the High School Awards Ceremony.
Friday, May 23, 2025, will be a Teacher Workday. This scheduling is made possible by the Texas Education Code, which allows districts to extend instructional days to compensate for missed time due to weather-related closures or other emergencies. These additional instructional minutes can be used to offset missed school days, thereby permitting the use of May 23 as a workday without extending the school year.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Coach Brinkley for organizing such a fantastic event, and to our incredible high school helpers who made the day run smoothly. We appreciate all your hard work and school spirit! 💪👏
