Spurger High School and Junior High cross country teams have had a strong start in the pre-season meets. Sophomore Naomi Morin took first place at the Chester Cross Country Meet on September 3rd! Naomi just joined the team for the first time this year, and this was her very first race. She competed against approximately 75 other runners. In our latest meet at West Sabine on September 17th, 8th grader Luke Grotte placed first among 155 runners. Our high school boys' teams have started the season strong, bringing home four medals so far. Junior Logan Self placed 12th for JV in the first meet of the season at Hemphill. Juniors Zechariah Grissom and Kyle Grissom both medaled and finished in the top 20 of the varsity competition at the Jackson Hill Marina Broaddus Meet. Additionally, Kyle Grissom also medaled and placed in the top 20 of the varsity competition at the West Sabine meet on September 17th.

Parents, come join us for a sweet evening of fun, connection, and of course—PIE!

Our recent graduates are all over the area continuing their education and have completed their first week of school for the semester. In the past, only about 20% of our students attended college or trade school after graduation, but the class of 2025 has over 70% currently enrolled in a program of study! We are proud of our students for pursuing their goals and want to wish them good luck in their fall semester!
5th graders conducted an activity where they had to use their sensory language to describe certain candies.
